Tractor-Trailer Wreck and Fire Shuts Down Traffic
Traffic is moving again on I-77 in Fayette County, after a tractor-trailer went off the road and caught fire.
By Gina Long
"It happened early Tuesday evening near the Mossy/Oak Hill exit on the Turnpike.
Drivers sat in bumper-to-bumper traffic, not even moving, for about three hours while crews put out the fire and cleaned up the mess.
It backed up traffic for close to 10 miles.
The accident also left damage to the concrete median wall.
Fire departments from several cities responded to help put out the fire and clean up.
Two firefighters on scene were sent to the hospital with minor injuries.
Crews are expected to remove the remaining debris and repair the damage to the median wall on Tuesday."
