"Three people traveling on Interstate 40 near Vian early Saturday were killed when a tractor-trailer going west crossed the median into the eastbound lanes, hitting the car they were in, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Norman Winkley, 63, of El Paso, Texas, Kwinnelle Smith, 77, of Las Cruces, N.M., and Premadonna Delaney, 61, of Odessa, Texas, were all killed during the crash, the report stated. Trooper Jeremy Weedon, one of the OHP troopers on the scene, said he believes the trio were on their way to Waldron for a funeral when the wreck occurred around 12:20 a.m. Saturday.

Troopers who investigated the crash said Winkley was driving a 2006 Toyota Corolla around mile marker 298 when the semi, driven by James Crozier, 35, of Byromville, Ga., crossed into the eastbound lanes, hitting the car. Winkley and Delaney were ejected from the vehicle."
