$4.4 Million Settlement Reached for Injured Motorist
Matthew A. Cartwright, of Munley, Munley & Cartwright, P.C., Plains, has announced that the parties have reached a settlement of $4,400,000.00 in a complex, multi-party motor vehicle injury case filed in northeastern Pennsylvania. The parties have stipulated that as part of the resolution, their identities and details about the case will be kept confidential, for the protection of all involved. Cartwright, who represented the Plaintiff, explained that the matter had been in litigation for several years, and ended after an extended period of discovery and negotiation. "We’re very pleased to have achieved this result,” Cartwright said. “Obviously, for a single victim to receive this level of compensation, he has suffered a grievous and lasting injury. We had that in abundance in this case. To be sure, no amount of financial compensation can completely balance this sort of harm, but this settlement will go a long way toward providing the kinds of services and support my client can use at least to make life a little easier."
