Facing Point Lock: A locking device which automatically locks the switch points of a spring switch in normal position.

Final Judgment: The written ruling on a lawsuit by the judge who presided at trial. This completes the case unless it is appealed to a higher court. Also called a final decree or final decision.

Fixed Signal: A signal of fixed location indicating a condition affecting the movement of a train. 

Fraud: Occurs when intentional false statements are made to entice a victim to give up something of value. 

FRED: Flashing Rear End Device. 

Frog: The intersection of two rails of a switch. 

Full Service Application: Corresponds to a handle position for the automatic brake handle. When an application is made on the automatic brakes the equalizing reservoir pressure drops in proportion to the handle movement.
