Munley Secures $237,000 for Minor Injured in ATV Accident
Scranton, PA - April 4, 2008 - Atty. Robert W. Munley, III, a partner in Munley, Munley & Cartwright, successfully negotiated a $237,000 settlement on behalf of a minor seriously injured in an ATV accident.
At age 9, Munley's client suffered multiple contusions and fractures requiring reconstructive surgery and intensive physical therapy, as a result of the crash. At the time of the accident, the victim's eight-year-old friend was operating the ATV, even though he did not have permission take the vehicle off his parents' property. While riding along a rural, dirt road miles away from home, the ATV blew out a tire, and crashed.
Today, at age 13 the victim continues to suffer the ill effects of his injuries. In order to ensure a fair shake for his client, Atty. Munley fought hard against the defendant's insurance company, who initially denied liability for the accident. However, after a series of artful negations, all parties agreed to settle the matter out of court.
