Qualified member of the engine department(qmed): unlicensed members of the engine department who attend to a fully automated engine room.
Quartermaster/helmsman: an able-bodied seamen entrusted with the steering of a vessel.
Quash: to nullify, void or declare invalid.
Quarters: accommodations.
Quay: a structure attached to land to which a vessel is moored.
Quid pro quo: latin phrase that means what for what or something for something. The concept of getting something of value in return for giving something of value. For a contract to be binding, it usually must involve the exchange of something of value.
