Attorney Munley Named to Multi-Purpose Stadium Authority
Scranton, Pennsylvania Dec. 29, 2009—Attorney J. Christopher Munley, managing partner of the law firm Munley, Munley & Cartwright, P.C., of Scranton, Pennsylvania has been appointed to a seat on the Lackawanna County Multi-Purpose Stadium Authority.
Munley was appointed by the Lackawanna County commissioners to fill a vacancy left by the resignation of authority member James Moran.

Attorney Marion Munley was a featured speaker for the American Association of Justice Advanced Litigating Truck Collision Cases held in Atlanta, Georgia from October 9 - 12, 2009.
In addition to speaking, Ms. Munley was a workshop leader for four hour breakout workshops during each of the four days, with topics ranging from “Deposing the Defendant Driver/Safety Director,” to “Crafting the Rules and Themes,” to “Jury De-Selection & Challenges for Cause.”

Julia K. Munley Admitted to Practice Before the U.S. Supreme Court
Local Attorney Julia K. Munley, recently received notification on behalf of the Justices of the Supreme Court of the United States that she has been granted admission to practice before the Supreme Court and that she is now a member of the bar of that Court and Officer of the Court. Attorney Munley is a trial lawyer specializing in civil litigation of personal injury cases with her family’s law firm, Munley, Munley & Cartwright, P.C.
Attorney Munley has litigated and argued numerous cases before the trial and appellate courts of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania since her admissions in 1992. In 2001, she was admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit where she has argued.

Scranton, PA (September 2003) . . . A 2001 accident on I-81 in Luzerne County has resulted in a Massachusetts based trucking company and its driver agreeing to pay an $850,000 settlement. The recipient of the award, Robert Reed of Irving, Texas, was driving his motorcycle at the time of the crash.

Paparelli as its Firm Administrator in May. Mrs. Paparelli comes from a long background of familiarity with local law firms having served as a Law Librarian for over 28 years. She holds an undergraduate degree from Immaculata University and a graduate degree from Villanova University. Boyle, President of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America along with Larry S. Stewart, President, Trian Lawyers Care, Inc. recognized these members of the firm as Lawyer Volunteer’s willing to provide free, quality legal representation to eligible victims and their families who sought compensation under the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund. The generous donation of their time and legal expertise was appreciated along with their dedication to helping the victims and families touched by the events of September 11th.
Attorney Daniel Webster Munley was among a number of specially invited dignitaries to attend the French government’s unveiling of a commemorative plaque honoring French victims of the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center. The ceremony, held at the French Consulate in New York City, was presided over by French Consulate General Richard Duqu? Mrs. Dening Lohez, widow of Jerome Robert Lohez, requested Attorney’s Munley’s presence at the French ceremony.
Mr. Lohez was a senior applications architect at NexxtHealth, a subsidiary of Empire Blue Cross and Blue Shield, located on the 26th Floor of the World Trade Center. He was also a veteran of the French Army’s 53 Artillery regiment and had just returned from visiting his family in France when he was killed in the 9/11 attacks. Mr.. Lohez was set to release a software product for his company, which was thought to be a breakthrough in the industry, on September 11, 2001.
A volunteer in the American Trial Lawyers Association’s (ATLA) Trial Lawyers Care Program established by ATLA for attorneys to provide free representation to victims of 9/11 tragedy. Attorney Munley stated “following the tragic event, many Americans were looking for ways to help. I felt this program was a way for me to take my abilities and apply them.”
Through Attorney Munley’s efforts in presenting the claims to the Victims Compensation Fund and with the assistance of life-long friend Brian Kelly, CPA, Mrs. Lohez, was awarded $3.9 million.
To express her gratitude, Mrs. Lohez invited Attorney Munley and Mr. Kelly, and their wives, Valerie Munley and Melissa Kelly, to attend the French Consulate Event. The plaque, will forever hang in the lobby of the French Consulate.
