Transcontinental Interstate 10 serves the southern tier of the United
States by providing the main east-west link from Santa Monica and
Greater Los Angeles, California in the west to Jacksonville, Florida in
the east for a total length of 2460 miles. I-10 is the southernmost
east-west, coast-to-coast interstate highway in the U.S. and is one of
three coast-to-coast Interstates (the others being Interstates 80 and
90). Along its east - west journey, I-10 picks up many local names such
as the Doctor June McCarroll Memorial Freeway,
Christopher Columbus Transcontinental Highway, Sonny Bono Memorial and
the Blue Star Highway. In Jacksonville Florida it is signed as the
"Pearl Harbor Memorial Highway."
I-10 covers 362.82 miles of the State of Florida serving the Panhandle
and northeastern Florida. Interstate 10 serves the cities of Pensacola
and spur road I-110, Tallahassee, Lake City and the I-75 connector, and
Jacksonville, where it terminates at I-95 / I-295.
