STATUTE: Tennessee Code 68-19-101 (Elevator Legislation). Standards for elevators, escalators, tramways, aerial rides, dumb-waiters, freight elevators. NOTE: Does not cover carnival and amusement rides with the exception of aerial rides and tramways.

PERMITS AND LICENSES: A state permit is required for new construction and modification annual inspection. Only applicable to Tramways & Ski Lifts.

INSPECTION: Six month on site inspection for tramways and aerial rides.

NOTES: Do not have legislation for amusement rides. Do have legislation for tramways because it is covered under their elevator legislation.
