STATUTE: Public Act 199 of 1962 carnivals & amusement rides. Public Act 225 of 1996 ski areas.
PERMITS AND LICENSES: Permits and Licenses:Obtained from Commercial Licensing Division, P.O. Box 30018, Lansing, MI 48909. Ann Milben, Licensing Administrator, (517) 241-9233 T (517)373-1044 Fax. Both mobile and fixed site ride operators apply for annual permits. Must pass inspection before issuance of permit.
INSPECTION: Annual inspection. Periodic inspections based upon past history. Some cities in Michigan require a state inspection before rides can operate.
NOTES: Water slides also covered - require plans specification, stress analysis and engineering certification. Cares, ASTM, ANSI.
